Rob A. Colvin

Rob Colvin grew up in the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in the community of North Ogden, Utah. Rob's parents encouraged and nurtured his creative spirit.

He graduated cum laude from Utah State University in 1984 with a degree in illustration. This was followed by a successful twenty year career in that field. At the age of thirty-nine Rob began to pursue the idea that his art needed to be more than the production of images to meet market demands, so he shifted his focus to fine art and painting the landscape he loves.

Rob has become known for his beautiful compositions which sensitively express the form, scale and beauty he sees in the land. His work is represented in many public, private and corporate collections. Rob's studio is located in his Morgan, Utah home.

Biography adapted from material on the Artist's web site.

Growing up in the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains in the community of North Ogden, Utah, Rob's parents encouraged and nurtured his creative spirit. With the added influence of some exceptional teachers, he knew his life's occupation would be art.

His work depicts the patterns and shapes of nature, emphasizing design over minutiae in his contemporary pieces. Exhibition jurors and the public have responded to the unique feel of his exceptional canvases. His work is represented in many public, private and corporate collections.

Rob's studio is located in his Morgan, Utah home. He enjoys working from home and the freedom it has given him to spend time with his wife and six children.
