Notices of Friends lectures: Speakers for the 2014 Sunday Afternoon Books & Authors Series and Wednesday Film series will be announced soon.

Invitations to A Book Collector's Evening: The Book Collector’s Evening, established in 2011, is a way to bring together book collectors and book lovers in support of the Marriott Library and the book collecting community. This year’s event will be held again at the Alta Club in downtown Salt Lake City in March and will feature a silent auction of rare and out-of-print books, a social hour, dinner and speakers.

Invitations to the Friends Spring Banquet: The Friends Spring Banquet is held every April.





Thursday, March 6, Aileen H. Clyde 20th Century Women’s Legacy Archives event, 7 pm. Gould Auditorium

Speaker: Kathleen Flake. Free and open to the public.


March 25 or 26, Book Collector Evening, 6 pm. Alta Club.

Speaker: Nicholas Basbanes. Date to be announced. Reservations required.


Sunday, April 6 Books and Authors Series

Speaker: Val Holley, 25th Street Confidential: Drama, Decadence, and Dissipation along Ogden’s Rowdiest Road, 3pm. Gould Auditorium. Free and open to the public.           


Tuesday, April 22, Annual Friends of the Library Spring Banquet.

Speaker: Donna Poulton, LeConte Stewart Masterworks. 6pm, Crimson View, Olpin Student Union Building, reservations required.
