Study Rooms

The Marriott Library has 22 study rooms available for drop-in use: 2130A-M, P-S, U; 3300A-D 

  • Priority for these drop-in study rooms is given to group work; individual study may be referred to a quiet or silent study space, as denoted on the Marriott Library Building Map.

There are also 5 study rooms available for reservation: 1750B, 1750C, 1750D, 2103, and 2105 (Note: 2130N Hoopes Seminar Room is no longer a study room)

  • Reservations for Schedulable Study Rooms may be scheduled up to 10 days in advance.
  • Reservations are limited to 2 hours.
  • Reservations can be made by any University of Utah student. Ask for assistance in the Knowledge Commons, at either Library Security & Information Desk at the entrances, or make a reservation by logging into the online scheduling system.
  • Schedulable Study Rooms can be used to practice presentations by individual students or student groups. 
  • In the event that a Schedulable Study Room is not claimed by the reservation holder within 15 minutes of the beginning of the reservation, the reservation will be considered void and the room will become available to another student on a first-come, first-served basis.

Prior to making a reservation, please read the entire Classroom and Study Room Policy.

The Family Reading Room has 2 additional study rooms available for reservation for study groups including at least one member with a child present for the length of the reservation: 3400C, 3400D
  • The Family Reading Room is reserved for student families only. Parents/guardians must have their children present in the Family Reading Room in order to use this space.  Parents/guardians are responsible for their children's safety and behavior.  Children under 12 should be supervised at all times.  Library staff cannot oversee unescorted or unsupervised children, nor be responsible for their safety. If an unsupervised child comes to the attention of library personnel, University of Utah Police will be contacted.
  • Reservations can be made by any University of Utah student. Ask for assistance in the Knowledge Commons, at either Library Security & Information Desk at the entrances, or make a reservation by logging into the online scheduling system
