Software2 FAQ

Software2 allows you to run lab Windows software remotely on your own Windows device. See the Application Jukebox instructions for step-by-step instructions on basic features.

After logging in, a token will show up in your downloads folder. Clicking or double-clicking the token will validate your session using Application Jukebox. You may need to reload the webpage after validating your session.

By default, the Software2 dashboard shows all the available applications in alphabetical order. There is a search feature in the top left that searches by title. You can also limit the software by clicking on a category on the left side. For software you access frequently, you can click the star in the top right of the application icon to add it to "My Favourites".

The Software2 portal interacts with Application Jukebox by downloading tokens. You need to click on the token in downloads pane of your browser or double-click on the token in your downloads folder to load the application using Application Jukebox.

Software2 relies on the same software licenses used in the Marriott Library and other computer labs. If all licenses are in use, you may have to wait for a license to become available. If you believe there is an issue with the license, please report a problem.

To avoid installation conflicts, we recommend removing any other versions of an application prior to running it through Software2.

If you'd like access to existing lab software using Software2, submit feedback. Otherwise you can submit a new software request.

We offer support during Marriott Library open hours at 801-581-4808. You can open a ticket with the support team during all hours.

This service is currently a pilot project restricted to limited groups. If you are interested in being part of the pilot project, please submit a request explaining why you would like access to Software2.
