Art and Archives Metadata Librarian
The J. Willard Marriott Library (Marriott Library) and the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) seek an Art and Archives Metadata Librarian to participate in a $750,000, four-year Andrew W. Mellon-funded grant project to develop a partnership between the two institutions. This career-line faculty position will work closely with the simultaneously-hired Collections Research Curator in building a substantive and collaborative working relationship to foster and enhance each organization's teaching, learning, and research missions.

Graduate & Undergraduate Librarian
The J. Willard Marriott Library seeks an innovative and dynamic professional for the position of Research Education Librarian to work four weeks each semester at the Utah Asia Campus (UAC) located in Incheon, Korea and spend the rest of the time at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. This is a career-line faculty appointment with funding guaranteed for three years. This is an excellent opportunity to work with University of Utah faculty and students to engage them in information literacy, research, critical thinking, and accurate writing and citation styles. The incumbent will engage with faculty and students across disciplines and campus units and meet regularly with the Marriott Library Associate Dean for Research and User Services. Reporting to the Head of Graduate & Undergraduate Services, the successful candidate will:
Teach library research workshops for 4 weeks each semester at the UAC and participate in teaching at the University of Utah Salt Lake City campus that includes being a guest lecturer for first-year programs and other targeted courses in the campus curriculum.
Provide one-on-one and small group research consultations and offer research and technology assistance in person and online.
Participate in outreach and engagement to the Salt Lake City and the UAC campus that expands connections and builds partnerships.
Participate in the development of the print collection at the Incheon Global Campus.
Digital Matters Lab Director
The University of Utah seeks an innovative and visionary leader for their newly-created Digital Matters Lab, located in the J. Willard Marriott Library. The model candidate will provide leadership and guidance as the lab and its contributors explore new avenues of research and scholarship at the university.
The Digital Matters Lab (DML) is a collaborative venture between the University of Utah's College of Humanities, College of Fine Arts, College of Architecture + Planning, and J. Willard Marriott Library. The aim of the lab is to provide the space, tools, and expertise necessary for computationally-enhanced research and teaching in the arts and humanities. Currently, the DML inhabits a temporary, pop-up space in the Marriott Library, with plans to build out a much larger, more comprehensive center in the near future. The lab will include areas for collaborative work, instruction, digital fabrication, exhibition of research, and data visualization. Projects will be driven by DML staff, as well as faculty and students from the partnering colleges. We imagine the DML to be a hub of innovation and center for dynamic partnerships across the university.
Digital Curation Librarian
The J. Willard Marriott Library is seeking a Digital Curation Librarian to support ongoing and emerging initiatives in the digital library program at the University of Utah. The position is located in the Digital Library Services department, which provides services for digitization, creation of descriptive metadata, preservation, and discovery of digital collections. The Marriott Library is home to a large-scale statewide digital newspapers program, Utah Digital Newspapers (https://digitalnewspapers.org/), containing over 20 million newspaper articles, and Digital Collections (https://collections.lib.utah.edu/) with over 700,000 digital items, including collections provided by external partners at the University of Utah as well as a variety of state agencies and local cultural heritage institutions.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a Research 1, PAC 12 institution which recently completed a $1.6 billion capital campaign by directly supporting the fundraising activities of the library. Applicants must be willing to work directly with donors and prospective donors, when needed, to build lasting relationships and help them achieve their philanthropic goals. Knowledge Commons Counter Staff
Serve students, staff, and faculty in the Knowledge Commons, the Marriott Library's central service point for technology and reference assistance, as well as in the Union and Benchmark computer labs. Work with a team of students and library staff to answer questions in a variety of areas including campus and library services, research, computer software, printing, mobile device configuration, classroom support, and equipment checkout.
Creativity and Innovation Specialist
This position will assist patrons of the Marriott Library with services offered by Creativity & Innovation Services (CrIS). The successful candidate will be patron-focused, acting as a first point of contact between 3D printing and scanning services, virtual reality and gaming, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), audio and video recording, and art and design research. On-the-job training will familiarize applicants with the Library's 3D printing, 3D scanning, and virtual reality equipment, media studios, and Fine Arts & Architecture and Materials collections. This position will work collaboratively toward goals alongside CrIS department employees to train University students, staff, and faculty to utilize the Library's resources and services to accomplish their research and production goals.
Special Collections Assistant
Process incoming gift book collections with full bibliographic listing, check existing holdings for best copy, check out-of-print resources for book values, serve at the reference desk, assist with special events, mailings, check out-of-print dealer catalogs for possible acquisitions. PTE must be detail oriented and pay attention to details of publication for best copy comparisons. After training in all areas of Special Collections, serve on the reference desk for one to two shifts of two hours per week. Able to work Monday through Friday during the hours of 8-5 and two Saturdays per semester (10-6) and assist with special events held during the evening.
Do you have a love of Utah history, Mormon history, and/or the history of the West? If so, this position is perfect for you. As a Photograph Processor in Multimedia Archives, you will assist in the arrangement, description, and digitization of photograph collections related to these histories. You be part of a team dedicated to preserving these important histories.
