Supplemental Rules to the Marriott Library Classrooms & Study Rooms Policy
Scope:
Parameters for providing access to technology, including laptops, installed in secured cabinets within particular classrooms at the Marriott Library
Definitions:
- Secured cabinet: An equipment cabinet that is secured by electronic lock with access managed through the University’s C*Cure system.
- Ucard: University of Utah issued identification card.
- Card access: Assigned permission to activate the electronic lock on a secured cabinet with the Ucard.
Rules:
- Card access will be assigned to patrons that reserve an applicable classroom more than 48 hours in advance Monday-Friday.
- Card access will remain in place through the duration of the semester the access is granted for.
- Laptops and other technology removed from a secured cabinet must stay in the classroom that it is assigned to.
- The patron with assigned access to the secured cabinet is responsible for ensuring that the equipment is returned and the cabinet is closed and secured after each use.
- Report any problems with technology or missing equipment promptly to the Level 2 Knowledge Commons Desk.
- If your Ucard is lost, stolen, or replaced, please notify Library Operations and Protection Services at 801-587-9758.
- Library Facilities management reserves the right to decline requests for access if no clear and appropriate purpose is determined.
