Supplemental Rules to the Marriott Library Classrooms & Study Rooms Policy

Scope:

Parameters for providing access to technology, including laptops, installed in secured cabinets within particular classrooms at the Marriott Library

Definitions:

  1. Secured cabinet: An equipment cabinet that is secured by electronic lock with access managed through the University’s C*Cure system.
  2. Ucard: University of Utah issued identification card.
  3. Card access: Assigned permission to activate the electronic lock on a secured cabinet with the Ucard.

Rules:

  1. Card access will be assigned to patrons that reserve an applicable classroom more than 48 hours in advance Monday-Friday.
  2. Card access will remain in place through the duration of the semester the access is granted for.
  3. Laptops and other technology removed from a secured cabinet must stay in the classroom that it is assigned to.
  4. The patron with assigned access to the secured cabinet is responsible for ensuring that the equipment is returned and the cabinet is closed and secured after each use.
  5. Report any problems with technology or missing equipment promptly to the Level 2 Knowledge Commons Desk.
  6. If your Ucard is lost, stolen, or replaced, please notify Library Operations and Protection Services at 801-587-9758.
  7. Library Facilities management reserves the right to decline requests for access if no clear and appropriate purpose is determined.
