Downy Doxey-Marshall was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1964. She specializes in egg tempera painting in which the perspectives are slightly skewed. She lives in Salt Lake City.
Doxey-Marshall earned a BFA from the University of Utah in 1988. She later earned an MFA from Brigham Young University in 1996. She paints portraits of furniture-anthropomorphizing objects that we invite into our home and then discard.
Doxey-Marshall was a finalist in the 1998 Utah Arts Council Fellowship Award. Her work won a merit award in the 72nd Utah Spring Salon; it is also part of the permanent collection of the Springville Museum of Art. It was also part of Utah '96: Painting and Sculpture, Travel Exhbition Award. Examples of her work include Spearmint (2001) Lindy's Party, and Bonnard's Bath.

Downy Doxey-Marshall of Salt Lake City, is a talented egg-tempera painter who earned a B.F.A. at the University of Utah in 1988; she was also at Brigham Young University in 1985, 1986, 1992 and earned a M.F.A. in 1996. Also as a part of the 1985 London Study Abroad program, she presently teaches part-time at Brigham Young University. She participated in the “Ex Domo Artists Exhibit at Finch Lane Gallery - a group show by five artists titling their exhibit Ex Domo, “ held at the Salt Lake City Arts Council's Art Barn in the summer 1997. She was a finalist in Utah Art Council's 1998 fellowship show View of Nine, and her work Fresh Eggs was shown at the Kimball Art Center.
