Frank Magleby was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1928. He is an oil and opaque-watercolor painter and art educator. He lives in Provo, Utah.
Magleby's uncles, William and Dean Fausett, influenced his painting style. Magleby earned his BS in 1950 and his MS in 1952 from Brigham Young University. He joined the BYU faculty in 1959. He earned his Ed.D. from Columbia University in 1969.
Benbow Farm and Pond won a merit prize and purchase prize in 1987. Timpanogas from South Fork (1978), a Springville Museum of Art purchase from their Spring salon, is another example of his work.

Francis Magleby is a native of Idaho Falls, Idaho and is a talented oil and opaque-watercolor painter and art educator. He has been a member (now emeritus) of Brigham Young University art department faculty since 1959. He earned degrees at B.Y.U. (B.S., 1950; M.S., 1952) and then went on for an Ed.D. at Columbia University (1967) in New York City. The director of the B.F. Larsen Gallery at B.Y.U. from 1962 to 1969, Magleby paints in a realistic style and, according to Magleby, specializes in landscape, seascape, cityscape, and figures in "oil gesso panels incorporating glazing and direct painting technique."
