Linda Lee Shimmin was born May 9, 1940. A long time resident of Provo and Vernal, Utah; she is a talented expressionist painter in oils who specializes in religious and visionary-spiritualist themes. She lives in Vernal, Utah.
Her work is very independent, though having overtones of Marc Chagal. Her brushwork is powerful, giving texture to her thick paint application. Not sparing color, her work is a swirl of centrifugal forces that both please and give a sense of spiritual drama.
Shimmin's work has been exhibited throughout the state in places such as the Eccles Community Art Center and the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art at Utah State University.
