Donation Box Policy

  1. Policy Scope

    1. To outline policies and procedures for campus units wanting to place a donation box at the Marriott Library.
  2. Definitions
    1. Campus Unit – Any college, center, program, department, etc. that falls under the University of Utah 
umbrella. 

    2. Library Space Partners – Campus units that have offices within the library. 

    3. Recognized Student Organizations – All student groups who register with, and receive recognition from Student Leadership & Involvement. 

  3. Policies
    1. Donation box space can be requested by a campus unit, library space partner, or a recognized student 
organization only. 

    2. Donation Box spaces include:
      1. Level 1 Entrance Vestibule Donation Box
      2. Level 3 Entrance Vestibule Donation Box
    3. Reservations can only be made through the Request Form. 

    4. Campus units must provide their own donation box, signage, and advertising.
    5. The library is not responsible for theft or damage to the donation boxes nor contents.
    6. Donation boxes and their content must be picked up within 24 hours of the conclusion of their reservation.
