Donation Box Policy

I. Policy Scope


  • To outline policies and procedures for campus units wanting to place a donation box at the Marriott Library.

II. Definitions

  • Campus Unit – Any college, center, program, department, etc. that falls under the University of Utah 
umbrella. 

  • Library Space Partners – Campus units that have offices within the library. 

  • Recognized Student Organizations – All student groups who register with, and receive recognition from Student Leadership & Involvement. 


III. Policies

  • Donation box space can be requested by a campus unit, library space partner, or a recognized student 
organization only. 

  • Donation Box spaces include:
    • Level 1 Entrance Vestibule Donation Box
    • Level 3 Entrance Vestibule Donation Box
  • Reservations can only be made through the Request Form. 

  • Campus units must provide their own donation box, signage, and advertising.
  • The library is not responsible for theft or damage to the donation boxes nor contents.
  • Donation boxes and their content must be picked up within 24 hours of the conclusion of their reservation.
