2026 Confluence and Jira Update
Atlassian, the company that makes Confluence and Jira, is ending support for the versions we currently use. Because of this, we are moving both systems to Atlassian’s online cloud service.
Key Dates
-
Confluence will move September 5–8
-
Jira will move September 12–14
Your information and existing work will be moved safely to the new systems. You will not lose your work.
Confluence (Staff Intranet) — September 5–8
- On the evening of September 5, Confluence will become read-only. You will still be able to view information, but you will not be able to make any further changes.
- The current version of Confluence that is being retired will remain read-only permanently.
- Your existing work will be moved to Confluence Cloud. Beginning September 8, you will be able to continue working in Confluence Cloud where you left off.
Jira (Help/Ticketing System) — September 12–14
- After the Library closes at 8:00 p.m. on September 12, Jira will become read-only. After this time, changes to the current version of Jira will be permanently disabled.
- Existing tickets will be moved to Jira Cloud, which will be available before the Library opens on September 14. You will be able to continue working there where you left off.
- We will provide more information in future FLASH messages, including how to access Confluence Cloud and Jira Cloud and details about the changes you will see in the new systems.
