About Us
We are located on the second floor of the J. Willard Marriott Library in Suite 2400. We support all departments within the College of Fine Arts and the College of Architecture + Planning, including Architecture, Art and Art History, Ballet, City and Metropolitan Planning, Modern Dance, Multi-Disciplinary Design, Film & Media Arts, Music, and Theatre.
The Fine Arts space is available for use anytime the Library is open.

Accessing the Collection
There are two options for accessing items from the Fine Arts & Architecture Collection:
- Make an online request through the library catalog. Same-day requests through the catalog will be fulfilled Monday through Friday if made before 4pm.
- An email will be sent when the item is available for pickup at the Level 1 Information Desk.
- Additional information about making online requests
- Make an in-person request at the Level 1 or Level 3 Information Desks.
- In-person requests can be made at any time, including weekends.
About the Collection
The showcase houses unique collections including artists' books, Latin American avant-garde collection, musical scores, and much more! Scanning and copying from most of these items is allowed within copyright.
In the tab titled “Locations and Request” the description “Fine Arts Library Collection” or “Fine Arts Library Folio” indicates the item is located in the Fine Arts & Architecture Library showcase. You may also search for a keyword or subject heading and then refine your search by selecting “Fine Arts Library Collection” from the facets on the left side of the page.

Professor Lennox Tierney Project
Oral history video interviews, digital collections, and more exploring the life and work of Professor Lennox Tierney with a focus on Japanese Architecture and art and the Occupation.
The Utah Artists Project (UAP) is a collaborative academic digital archive designed to provide access to biographies, bibliographies, and images of artwork by Utah's visual artists.
Our collaboration with the Utah Arts Festival to capture their history, celebrate their 35th anniversary, and explore their future.
Topolski Visualization Project: Topolski's Chronicle
The Chronicle is a visual record of the remarkable life of artist Feliks Topolski and other unique views of world events during the time of its publication from 1953 to 1979. Currently, this project contains only a small percentage of the 3000 drawings that make up the Chronicle; however, drawings have been included that demonstrate the diversity of the work and contain at least one image from each issue held by the library.
Space
In addition to one-of-a-kind collections and beautiful study spaces, a variety of technology and print resources are available:
- 80 current periodicals that cover a wide range of topics and all are available for checkout
- Large-format, flat- and V-bed scanner (up to 25" x 33.5") and page-feeder scanner
- Microsoft Surface Hub
- Simple Video Studio
Exhibitions
There are several opportunities for exhibitions in our space, including Katherine's Coutyard. Exhibitions in the Fine Arts & Architecture Library are limited to shows related to the arts, architecture, and planning. For those interested in proposing an exhibition, please visit and review the exhibitions webpage . Exhibitors will need to submit a formal proposal via the exhibitions page, and final approval will be given by the Head of Fine Arts, Luke Leither.
We are thrilled to announce the opening of a private music room in our library. This new space is equipped with:
- A high-quality keyboard
- A Mac computer with music composition software
- Two sets of studio-quality headphones, one open-back set and one closed-back set
Whether you're a seasoned musician or just starting, our music room provides the perfect environment to compose, practice, and record your music.
The music room is available for reservation through our online scheduler (Room is listed as 2500C Music Room). Simply locate the correct room for the desired date and time, and book your time slot.
